This 10K offers a scenic adventure on a fairly flat road with one STEEP incline to the peak of the bridge. It is the longest continuous truss bridge in North America.

October 17th TNT, “Punjabi Rebels of the Columbia River,” presented by independent historian and author Johanna Ogden.
Join us for an eye-opening journey into the lesser-known history of South Asians along the Columbia Corridor. Johanna Ogden will delve into material from her book, Punjabi Rebels of the Columbia River: The Global Fight for Indian Independence and Citizenship. Odgen will introduce us to the radical Independence organization known as Ghadar and the pivotal U.S. Supreme Court citizenship case United States v. Bhagat Singh Thind and the vital role each played in shaping our region’s past and that of the world.
Johanna Ogden (MA, University of British Columbia) is an independent historian and local activist in Portland. She has published multiple articles in the Oregon Historical Quarterly, including “Ghadar, Historical Silences, and Notions of Belonging,” which received the Oregon Historical Society’s Joel Palmer Award. She has spoken extensively across the Pacific Northwest and in India.

The Clatsop County Historical Society, with sponsorship from Astoria Granite Works, is excited to once again present “Talking Tombstones” held on the last Sunday of October from 1:00 pm until dusk. The location is to be announced two weeks prior to the event
Former citizens are expected to return from the great beyond for a graveside chat with any and all willing to visit their tombstone.
This is a FREE event, however donations are welcome. Visitors should plan to arrive no later than 3:00 p.m. as the deceased begin to fade from view as the darkness of night draws near.
